Ontario Casino – Great Canadian Gaming Corp. says that 11 of its Ontario casinos will reopen
TORONTO – Great Canadian Gaming Corp. says that 11 of its Ontario casinos will reopen on Friday following the provincial government’s decision to move to Phase 3 of the reopening plan.
The reopening facilities are Casino Woodbine, Great Blue Heron Casino, Casino Ajax, Elements Casino Mohawk, Elements Casino Flamborough, Elements Casino Brantford, Elements Casino Grand River, Shoreline Casino Belleville, Shoreline Casino Peterborough, Shoreline Casino Thousand Islands, and Shoreline Slots at Kawartha Downs.
What does this mean for Ontario’s casinos?
Casinos in Ontario have finally got the green light from the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (GCGC). Starting Friday, they can open their doors and offer on-site gambling services to customers.
However, some rules have to be followed. To ensure that guests are two meters (about six feet) apart, properties will not be able to operate as before, as they can currently only accommodate 50% of their total capacity. It is expected that the capacity limits will be increased in the near future.

The company says that its casino at Pickering Casino Resort will reopen in the near future, with the rest of the resort opening at a later date in 2022.
Under the province’s current health and safety framework, facilities with reduced gaming capacity will reopen to reflect physical distancing requirements.

What’s even better about the opening of Phase III and gambling facilities in Ontario is the fact that other locations, such as the Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, are also planning to open soon. These two facilities are owned by Ontario Lotteries and Gaming Corp and in a tweet, the entity said the new rules are being taken into account. Hence, a date on which the venues will open their doors will come soon. Casino Windsor also deserves a mention. The venue is planning to open shop on Tuesday.
