 Bhagsunath Temple & Waterfall

It is believed that the four sacred ponds surrounding the temple possess miraculous healing powers.

Namgyal Monastery, Mcleodganj

Namgyal Monastery, also known as the 14th Dalai Lama’s Monastery, is a sacred place where various Buddhist rituals and practices associated with Kalachakra, Vajrakilaya, Guhyasamaja, Yamantaka, and Chakrasamvara are performed.

It is also referred to as the Namgyal Tantric College, currently housing 200 monks who work towards preserving the monastery’s rituals, skills, and traditions. It is the largest Tibetan monastery outside Tibet.

Minkiani Pass, Mcleodganj

Minkiani Dharra is a part of the Dhauladhar mountain range that presents some breathtaking natural scenery, making it a beautiful spot near McLeod Ganj.  Kareri Lake, Kangra

Karer Lake, situated in a high-altitude region, is a freshwater lake that serves as a picturesque destination near McLeod Ganj. The source of water in the lake is the melting snow from the Dhauladhar mountain ranges, which turns into crystal-like water during the warmer seasons. Since snow is the primary water source, the lake’s water is almost pristine.

Tourists can capture the beauty of the lake in their cameras and also admire the magnificent cedar trees in the valley. It is an excellent place for trekking and photography. Karer Lake is located in the southern region of the Dhauladhar mountain range. The lake starts from McLeod Ganj and goes up to the village of Kareri. The lake becomes even more captivating during the winter months of December to March when it freezes. This makes the journey to Karer Lake truly worth experiencing, especially for those who have a deep love for nature.

The Dalai Lama’s Temple

This grand complex is also known as Tsuglagkhang, which serves as the residence of the Dalai Lama. The premises include several temples, a Tibetan museum, and a memorial store. Every day, students gather in the courtyard of Namgyal Monastery and study ancient Buddhist teachings.

A large golden statue of Buddha, along with smaller statues of Guru Rinpoche and Chenresig, stands in the middle, filling the surroundings with their presence. Adjacent to the main temple, there is a small western hall known as the Kalachakra Temple, whose walls are adorned with intricate murals.
