Oscars 2023 Live Updates: Ke Huy Quan Wins Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once: At the 95th Academy Awards held in Los Angeles, India is making a significant impact with multiple nominations and a special appearance by actress Deepika Padukone as a presenter. Among the nominees are Naatu Naatu from RRR for Best Original Song, All That Breathes, and The Elephant Whisperers for Best Documentary Feature and Best Documentary Short respectively.
The team from RRR, including director SS Rajamouli and actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR, are present at the awards, and Naatu Naatu will be performed live during the ceremony with singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava and dancer Lauren Gottlieb. This year’s nominees feature several firsts, including all five Best Actor nominees being first-time nominees, and a record four Asian actors receiving acting nominations, including Ke Huy Quan, who has won multiple awards this season for his role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once.”
Meanwhile, the Best Actress category features Michelle Yeoh as a strong contender, alongside Cate Blanchett, who could win her third statuette. Andrea Riseborough’s controversial nomination was upheld by the Academy after review, while Angela Bassett is a favourite for Best Supporting Actress, and Steven Spielberg is a potential fourth-time Oscar winner.

At the 95th Academy Awards, the Irish short film “An Irish Goodbye” won the award for Best Live Action Short Film. Meanwhile, “RRR,” the Telugu-language film, was also present at the ceremony, with its song “Naatu Naatu” nominated for Best Original Song. Host Jimmy Kimmel joked that this year’s winners who exceed the 45-second time limit for speeches would be “Naatu Naatu-d off stage,” but it remains to be seen whether anyone will actually test the limit.
At the 95th Academy Awards, Alexei Navalny’s documentary “Navalny” won the award for Best Documentary Feature Film, beating out the Indian documentary
“All That Breathes.” Jamie Lee Curtis won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” while Ke Huy Quan took home the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the same film.
Quan was considered the favorite for the award after sweeping the award season. Other nominees in the category included Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan for “The Banshees of Inisherin,” Brian Tyree Henry for “Causeway,” and Judd Hirsch for “The Fabelmans.” Meanwhile, at the Oscars’ red carpet event, Jr NTR’s look channeled his character Bheem from “RRR,” making for a cool and striking appearance.
