Modular Kitchen Vs Semi-Modular Kitchen Price, Maintenance

Modular Kitchens Vs Semi-Modular Kitchens Price, Maintenance: In India, it is very common to use the term “modular kitchen.” However, there is a technical difference between a modular kitchen and a semi-modular kitchen. In fact, many Indian homeowners who are purchasing modular kitchens are actually buying “semi-modular” kitchens.

Let’s understand the difference:

A modular kitchen is a concept that allows you to dismantle it and reinstall it in a new house or location. It is highly flexible in this regard. On the other hand, a semi-modular kitchen has a slight difference compared to a fully modular kitchen.

Imagine you have purchased a new house, and the builder has provided a kitchen with a marble kitchen platform topped with a granite countertop. It is solidly constructed by skilled professionals in civil work.

Now, on this existing platform, you can have trolleys and shutters installed with a fine finish using machine presses. Therefore, you have essentially transformed the platform, constructed through civil work, by adding trolleys, shutters, and cabinets, all according to the standards of a modular kitchen.

If you decide to move to a new house, you can dismantle and take the trolleys, shutters, and cabinets with you to use them in the new house. However, you cannot dismantle the granite or marble of the platform. You can either leave them as they are or break them to remove them. But you cannot reuse them.

Another thing to consider is if the new house already has a kitchen platform made of granite/marble but with a different size and arrangement of trolleys. What can be done in this case?

However, a fully modular kitchen does not involve any kind of civil work. You can provide us with an empty kitchen space equipped with necessary electrical and plumbing points, and we will set up the complete modular kitchen within 2-3 days. You can dismantle it, take it anywhere you want, and reinstall it as per your convenience.

In Indian households, semi-modular kitchens are commonly used, where civil professionals are called upon to construct the kitchen platform using granite or marble, and then modular kitchen specialists are summoned to build the kitchen itself.
