Chandipur Sea Beach: I came here for the first time with my friends Sushil and Debashish. When I first came to Chandipur sea beach, I was very surprised that why there is no water in this sea, as all the water has disappeared from the sea. So then I started exploring so let me tell you why Chandipur Beach is one of a kind.

Where Is Chandipur Sea Beach Located?
Chandipur is a beach in the Balasore district, of Odisha, India. The beach is situated on the coast of the Bay of Bengal and is about 16 Km from Balasore Railway Station.
Why Chandipur Beach Is One Of Its Kind:
- Chandipur beach has gained global popularity for its ‘Vanishing Sea’ phenomenon. Here one can literally see the sea disappear (read) for about 5 to 6 kilometers during low tide and then come back at high tide. This rare event happens twice a day.
- Chandipur is famous for its seafood – especially prawns and pomfrets. So the next time you’re there, don’t forget to try the Odia-style fried prawns and pomfret at one of the small beach shacks.
- 200 km from the state capital Bhubaneswar, the ambiance of the beach is perfect for a picnic. Tall trees sway in the air, whistling melodious tunes with the gust of wind. Chandipur beach is ideal for a romantic candlelight dinner to take away someone special.
- Chandipur is home to a wide range of biodiversity. Apart from a variety of fish, rare horseshoe crabs and small red crabs are often seen on the beach.
- A part of the beach is the Integrated Test Range (ITR) of the Indian Army under the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Akash, Shaurya, Agni, and Prithvi ballistic missiles have been launched from here. A beautiful beach and missile launch site make for a unique combination.
Chandipur can be reached by rail or road to Balasore and then by bus, auto or taxi. The road to Balasore is via National Highway 16 (NH-16). Chandipur beach is 16 km away from the Balasore railway station.
