Atiq-Ashraf Murder – After the Atik-Asraf murder case, political turmoil ensues; Owaisi demands CM Yogi’s resignation while Mayawati declares UP as an encounter state.

Where Mafia Atiq and his brother Ashraf (Atiq-Ashraf Murder) were murdered publicly in Prayagraj at 10 o’clock last Saturday night. At the same time, vigorous politics has started in Uttar Pradesh regarding the matter. Regarding this murder, all the big and small political parties of the state and their leaders are calling it a failure of the Yogi government or a big conspiracy.

Politics after the murder

In this sequence, regarding the incident, former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav said that the morale of the criminals in the state is high. When people can be shot and killed openly in the police security cordon, then what to say about the safety of the public? It seems some people are deliberately creating such an atmosphere. So right there, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has termed this incident as a failure of UP’s law and order. He said that those who celebrate the encounter rule are also responsible for this murder. Both the brothers were handcuffed.

He continued by saying that Asaduddin Owaisi suggested that the Supreme Court should constitute an investigation committee to oversee the probe into this heinous crime. He expressed his utter condemnation for this heinous act and felt helpless to find adequate words to describe the same.

He emphasized that no UP officer should be a part of the investigating team, and the probe should be closely monitored by the Court. He went on to state that the state government in UP is operating not through law but through gun culture, and if everyone resorts to firing, then what is the use of the Court?

The perpetrators of the crime knew exactly how to execute their sinister plan, and therefore, CM Yogi should acknowledge his failure and tender his resignation.

UP, the most populous state in India has become known as the “encounter state”, where police custody deaths have become commonplace. The former Chief Minister of the state, Mayawati, has expressed concern over the increasing number of killings in police custody, and the Supreme Court has been called upon to investigate the matter. This raises serious questions about the law and order situation in the state.

In response to the recent encounter in Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged people not to believe in rumours and to maintain calm. The three accused in the case are reportedly from outside the city. Meanwhile, heavy police deployment has been made across Prayagraj, and the police have been put on alert in Hamirpur after the names of the murder suspect Atik Ahmad and Ashraf were linked to the district. The Chief Minister has cancelled all his scheduled programs and meetings and will be staying at his residence.

The incident that occurred on the previous Saturday night was that mafia dons Atik and Ashraf were killed in Prayagraj. They were being taken to the hospital for a medical examination when some journalists accompanying them started asking questions. It was at this point that three attackers broke through the police cordon and fired a bullet into Atik’s head, followed by gunfire on Ashraf. Both of them died on the spot.
