Developed as an eco-tourism destination in 2012, this place is a perfect weekend getaway for those seeking peace and solitude amidst nature’s beauty.

As you enter Lamahatta, you’ll be greeted by vast forests of pine and dhupi on one side of the road, while the magnificent mountains and River Teesta will welcome you on the other side. On clear days, the stunning view of Mount Kanchenjunga can be seen from this place.

The village is mainly inhabited by Sherpas, Yalmos, Tamangs, Bhutias, and Dukpas, who have opened several homestays for tourists. These homestays offer a comfortable stay with basic facilities like attached baths, beds, and furniture. You can also opt to stay in tents, which can accommodate two people each, and come with attached washrooms, twin beds, and cupboards.

One of the must-visit places in Lamahatta is the roadside garden, which is well-maintained and dotted with numerous flowers. The place also has seating arrangements where you can sit and enjoy the serene surroundings. The entry fee to the park is Rs 20 per person.
