The hump in Kedarnath, the navel in the middle Maheshwar, the Bhujaye in Tungnath, the mouth in Rudranath, and the hair in Kalpeshwar. Together these places are called Panch Kedar.

It is believed that the original Kedarnath temple was built by the Pandavas where the hump appeared. The present Kedarnath temple was built by Adi Shankaracharya, who is credited with restoring the glory of this ancient temple.
