Raghunath Mandir Khelar Bonpatna Kharagpur Bengal Tourism: Raghunath Temple is situated at Village Banpatna. The Raghunath Temple was built in 1868 AD. The giant octagonal idols established in the past are no more in the temple today.

At present the adored idols of Ramachandra-Sitadevi, Bharat, Shatrughna, Lakshmana, Sugriva, Angad, Hanuman, Sri Krishna, and Radharani are made of white stone. Along with this 29 Shalgram rocks were also worshiped in the temple.
Structure Of The Temple
The temple is modeled after the ‘Fortress-Temple’ of South India. Surrounded by a wall 8/10 feet high. In the inner courtyard, there is the main temple, huge bathing altar, building-style basil stage, eagle-pillar, kitchen, warehouse, rows of guest houses, etc. This temple is known as “Thakurbari” for everything. Ancient Cuttack Road is located a little east of Bonapatna village.

In the past, a group of pilgrims from Puri or Gangasagar used to come and stay here. Occasionally they would come to the guest house with a caravan of elephants or camels. East-facing square temple of the Pancha-Ratna style was established on a high foundation. The length-width of the temple is 25 feet in height And 35 feet. A wide bypass surrounds the temple.
A porch has been constructed across the four sides of the sanctum sanctorum. There are three arched doorways. There are two entrances to the sanctum sanctorum, east and north. There is a staircase built from inside the sanctum sanctorum.
The ceilings of the balconies have been drawn arched in style. The ceiling of the sanctum sanctorum has been built by placing large domes at the head of the arches pressed against the four walls. All the gems have a five-chariot format and pedigree.

The heading part is decorated with benki, amalak, Kalas, and flagpoles. Although the gems have a canopy over their heads, the cornices are linear.
There is an eight-door theater in front here. Shelter on the head. The inner ceiling is composed of four half-arches.
Seen As Decoration
- A row of pigeons along the bottom of the cornice.
- Two lion statues in front of the central gem.
- A few full-length human figures are in the bathing altar and the theater.
In addition, the outer walls of the main temple and the interior of the sanctum sanctorum were decorated with geometric and floral designs.

However, the structure and craftsmanship of the monuments are all in a state of disrepair. We must all come forward to reform it immediately. This historic monument can still be preserved if the government and non-government organizations are active.
