Who built the Raibania fort?
Narasingha Deva I, king of the Eastern Ganga dynasty of Utkala from 1238 to 1264, it was built during the Buddhist era in Odisha. The forts were built after conquering Humayun Khan to obstruct the entry of the Turks into Odisha. This fort complex is considered the biggest medieval fort in the eastern part of India.

Although there are some forts were recorded in the Ain-i-Akbari, four forts have been found here: two of the larger ones are nearer to the village Raibania, and the other two are closer to the village Phulta (Phulahatta). The fort is built of laterite stone and in the shape of an irregular pentagon with walls of various dimensions ranging between 2,640ft and 4,950ft. There are 161 fort goddesses which are “Durga devata” or “Iṣṫa devata” and Daṣasharu which is an iconic form of the goddess Jayachandi.
