Last month, on October 28, 2022, a staggering 38,068 tourists visited the Taj Mahal throughout the day, setting a new record. This influx of visitors resulted in long queues at both the east and west gates of the monument. It’s not just common people who are eager to see this majestic structure, as celebrities too are often seen visiting the Taj Mahal.

The Archaeological Survey of India had increased the number of handheld devices for ticket scanning to accommodate the surge in visitors, but it was still not enough. As a result, tourists faced difficulties in getting entry tickets.
A total of 36,293 Indian and 1,775 foreign tourists visited the Taj Mahal during this period.

Railway Station of Taj Mahal: The nearest railway station is Agra Cantt at a distance of 6 km. It is about 13 minute drive from the railway station by auto or cab.
Nearby Bus Stand to Taj Mahal: Idgah Bus Station is the biggest and most prominent bus terminal of Agra and is 6 km away from the Taj Mahal.
You can hire a taxi or auto from there to reach the monument. It takes about 15 minutes. You can also hire a rickshaw driver to reach the Taj Mahal from the bus station.
By Road: If you are coming from Delhi NCR by road, you can go by Yamuna Expressway connecting Greater Noida with Agra; It is a 165 km drive.
