In the months following the lifting of restrictions, the number of tickets sold to see the Taj Mahal has surged dramatically. Last month, on October 28, 2022, a staggering 38,068 tourists visited the Taj Mahal throughout the day, setting a new record. This influx of visitors resulted in long queues at both the east and west gates of the monument. It’s not just common people who are eager to see this majestic structure, as celebrities too are often seen visiting the Taj Mahal.

Ten days ago, the Taj Mahal witnessed an unexpected crowd, giving the impression that a celebrity or a concert might be taking place. However, the truth was that people had come in large numbers to witness the grandeur of this magnificent monument.

The Archaeological Survey of India had increased the number of handheld devices for ticket scanning to accommodate the surge in visitors, but it was still not enough. As a result, tourists faced difficulties in getting entry tickets.

A total of 36,293 Indian and 1,775 foreign tourists visited the Taj Mahal during this period.

Lara had planned to visit the Taj Mahal the next day, but he found it difficult to sleep that night due to his excitement. He spent the night tossing and turning, eagerly waiting to see the Taj Mahal in the morning.

During his visit, Lara not only learned about the Taj Mahal’s construction but also about the Mughal emperor and his wife. He was fascinated by the historical and cultural significance of the monument

How to reach the Taj Mahal

Nearest Airport to Taj Mahal: The nearest airport to the Taj Mahal is Agra Airport at a distance of 13 km and it will take 35 minutes to reach the monument by taxi from the airport.

Railway Station of Taj Mahal: The nearest railway station is Agra Cantt at a distance of 6 km. It is about 13 minute drive from the railway station by auto or cab.

Nearby Bus Stand to Taj Mahal: Idgah Bus Station is the biggest and most prominent bus terminal of Agra and is 6 km away from the Taj Mahal.

You can hire a taxi or auto from there to reach the monument. It takes about 15 minutes. You can also hire a rickshaw driver to reach the Taj Mahal from the bus station.

By Road: If you are coming from Delhi NCR by road, you can go by Yamuna Expressway connecting Greater Noida with Agra; It is a 165 km drive.

Brian Lara reached Agra on Sunday evening. By the time they reached the Taj Mahal, the time for the memorial was over.

Desperate, Lara started thinking of returning, but after seeing a glimpse of the distance of the Taj Mahal, he was forced to stop. After waiting for the whole night, he finally reached the Taj Mahal.
