Baba Balak Nath, a revered Hindu deity, is fervently worshiped in the North Indian states of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Delhi, attracting countless devotees to Siddha Dham in Deotsidh.

The temple has a natural cave which is believed to be the abode of Baba Balak Nath, within which his idol is installed. Devotees offer bread made of flour, sugar/jaggery and ghee to Babaji as a symbol of their devotion. Here a goat is also offered to Babaji, which is a symbol of his love. However, the goat is not sacrificed but is nurtured.

According to belief, women go near the cave but do not enter inside.Instead of entering the cave, women take darshan from the platform in front and make wishes. Baba Ji’s celibacy is considered to be the reason behind his darshan from a distance.

However, no instructions have been issued by the Trust or the government regarding women not going into the cave. It depends on the wishes of the women whether they want to go inside or not.

There is a place “Shahtalai” about six kilometers ahead of the temple. It is believed that Babaji used to meditate at this place. It is believed about Baba Balak Nath that he has been born in all ages. They were known by different names in every era.
