The highly anticipated film, Bheed, documents the dark lockdown phase in India when state borders were sealed to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. It highlights how numerous people were stranded away from home, exposed to the elements, and the painful memories it evoked of the Partition of India in 1947.

After the release of the official trailer, fans flooded the comment section with red hearts and fire emoticons, expressing their excitement. “Woohoo. Must watch a movie…,” one fan commented. Another wrote, “Rao has hit the jackpot with this script. Every Indian, regardless of age group, is going to relate, especially since this is going to hit the masses, and the only way people will get back to the theaters… good job & all the best.”
In Bheed, Bhumi Pednekar portrays a doctor, while Rajkummar Rao plays a police inspector. This film marks their second collaboration after Badhaai Do, which was released last year and received critical acclaim. On the work front, Rajkummar Rao was last seen in the Netflix original Monica, O My Darling, which garnered mixed reviews. Bhumi Pednekar will be seen in Ajay Bahl’s The Ladykiller, Sudhir Mishra’s Afwaa, Gauri Khan-produced Bhakshak, and Mudassar Aziz’s Mere Husband Ki Biwi.
